Dr. Samantha Ewart, LICSW (she/her/hers), is a Rhode Island native. She has spent most of her career as a social worker working with young people who have experienced various forms of trauma. She has also worked for many years in the secondary education system, assisting school leaders with deconstructing systemic policies and practices that perpetuate the school-to-prison pipeline. Dr. Ewart's doctoral degree focuses on implementing leadership, research, and advanced clinical practice through a DEIPAR framework (diversity, equity, intersectionality, anti-racism, and power) and thus continues to work on incorporating this framework throughout her professional career, including teaching. Dr. Ewart's professional interests include critical race studies, including CRT, DisCrit, LatCrit, abolitionist social work, positionality, and school social work through anti-racist principles.
